The Soldiers Table Unveiled
Episode 3 finished on a huge suspense moment and presented the first table of heroes who will branch out from the main group to begin their separate journey, separate from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table features Teor (played by Travis), Thimble (the talented performer), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
Considering an extensive roster, it was clear from the outset that having everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
This explains, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, connecting the characters’ stories before dividing into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Planners, and Seekers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
As described by the DM, the combat-focused party is for participants who are drawn to a traditionally charged battle-oriented narrative style where diplomatic options are rare.
At first glance, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might appear out of place, but the events of the latest installment demonstrate why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
To begin with, the party knows exactly where to head next after a violent initial meeting with the antagonists.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose demise kicked off the campaign’s events—exploited The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, entering the hidden lair, attacking Thimble, and stealing all the magical artifacts to sell off.
The antagonist then settled his obligations and ran away to a fortified location in the remote area, above the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each member has a personal reason to depart Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as the companion and best friend, wants vengeance.
- The knowledgeable figure knows the region and advises that it is a nasty location.
- The strong character and The cleric, having disobeyed his house’s orders to execute the fighter and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
- But, their reputation as key figures in the powerful family could assist the group reach places they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The fighter swore a life debt to The cleric for his rescue and will now go with him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the rulers that govern Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- The rogue and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and Wicander turned against House Halovar and the army of fiends they are partnered with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.
This means them few options but to travel to the northern region in quest for the traitor.
